Anberlin Post Studio Update

Actuellement en studio en compagnie du producteur Aaron Sprinkle pour enregistrer leur nouvel album qui succédera à Dark Is the Way, Light Is a Place paru en 2010, les américains d’Anberlin ont posté un message sur leur Tumblr afin de partager avec leurs fans leur enthousiasme quant aux conditions de mise en boîte :

« Trois jours avant la fin des pré-productions. Retourner à Seattle afin de commencer cet album a été la meilleure décision que nous pouvions prendre. La connection que nous avons avec cet endroit est incroyable. Nous avons tous tellement appris musicalement ces dernières années, que le processus de fabrication d’un album est aujourd’hui vraiment différent par rapport à la dernière fois où nous avons travaillé avec Sprinkle. Nous sommes plus que jamais capables d’expérimenter, en raison du niveau de confort que nous avec lui et nous-mêmes. Nous ne pourrions pas être plus heureux d’avoir décidé d’enregistrer cet album ici et avec lui. Les prochains mois vont être très funs.

Aussi, si j’entends encore une personne espérer que cet album sonnera comme Cities Part II, je lui donne un coup de point. Nous aimons tous cet album et pensons sincèrement que c’est l’un de nos meilleurs. Mais pourquoi voudrions-nous sortir un album qui sonnerait comme un d’il y a six ans ? Nous voulons progresser et changer avec chaque album, tout en conservant la son et l’ambiance de ce qui fait Anberlin. Nous vous sommes tellement reconnaisant et nous ne ferions pas des opus si ils n’étaient pas pour vous. Notre but principal est d’enregistrer des albums que vous aimerez et continuerez d’aimer au fil des années.

Currently in studio to record the follow-up to Dark Is the Way, Light Is a Place with producer Aaron Sprinkle, Anberlin have posted an update from it on Tumblr :

3 days left of preproduction. Coming back to Seattle to start this album was the best decision we could have made. The connection we have with this place is incredible. We’ve all learned so much musically in the last fews years, that the process of making an album now is so different than the last time we worked with Sprinkle. We’re able to experiment more than we ever have, due to the comfort level we have with him and ourselves. We couldn’t be happier or more pumped in the decision we made to make this album here, and with him. It’s gonna be a fun few months.

Also, if I hear one more person say they hope it sounds like CITIES part 2, I might involuntarily punch you. We collectively love that album, and genuinely think it’s one of our best albums. But, why would want to put out an album that sounds like a album we did 6 years ago? We want to progress and change with each album, yet still keeping the sound and vibe of what makes Anberlin, Anberlin. We’re so grateful for all of you and wouldn’t be making records if it weren’t for you guys. Our main goal is to make albums that you guys will love and will continue to love throughout the years. We’ll talk soon. Love you.
