Howard Jones Explains Exit From Killswitch Engage

C’est un choc pour les fans de Killswitch Engage : Le chanteur Howard Jones quitte le groupe ! En effet, après avoir annoncé son départ mercredi, il explique, dans un article posté sur le site officiel du groupe, les raisons :

«Je pense que j’éclaircirai les raisons de mon départ sans aller trop loin. Comme certains le savent, j’ai vraiment eu quelques années intéressantes, à combattre des problèmes personnels, pour dire le minimum. Un des points négatifs est d’avoir été diagnostiqué diabétique de niveau 2, ce qui est resté incontrôlé pendant des années.

Tout le groupe à traverser ça avec moi, et pour être honnête ce sont eux qui m’ont permis de continuer. Toute cette expérience a sans aucun doute laissée des traces en moi.

Récemment nous étions tous en mode écriture mais quelque part je n’étais pas enthousiaste concernant le nouvel album et la tournée qui suivrait. Les gars l’ont vu avant moi. Maintenant, avec le recul, je réalise que le cœur n’y était pas.

J’ai eu une décennie incroyable avec KSE. J’adore Justin, MikeD, Joel et Adam pour m’avoir entraîner la-dedans et avoir été à mes cotés peu importe les circonstances. J’ai tellement de bons souvenirs et ce sont ceux là que je garderai.

Est- ce que je m’investirai de nouveau dans la musique ? Bien sûr, je suis dans des groupe depuis un peu plus de la moitié de ma vie, je ne peux pas arrêter maintenant. Par ailleurs, bien que le chanteur ne fasse plus parti de la bande, le groupe est actuellement en train de travailler sur un sixième album et prévoit de l’enregistrer en studio en Février/Mars 2012.

It’s a shock for Killswitch fans : singer Howard Jones leaves the band ! Indeed, after announcing his departure on Wednesday, he explains the reasons why he left the band in an article posted on Friday on the band’s official website :

“Well, I guess I will shed a little light without going too deep. As some of you may know, I’ve had a pretty interesting couple of years to say the least battling with some personal issues. One of the low points being diagnosed with type 2 diabetes that went unchecked for years.

The rest of the band stuck with me through it, and to be honest they are the ones that kept me going. The whole experience definitely put a scare in me.

Recently we’ve all been in writing mode but somehow I couldn’t get excited about the new album and all the touring that would go with it. The guys saw it before I did. In hindsight I now realize that my heart wasn’t in it.

I have had an amazing decade with KSE. I love Justin, MikeD, Joel and Adam for hanging in there and standing by me no matter how bad it was. I have so many good memories, and those are the ones that I will keep.

Will I be involved in music again? Sure, I have been in bands for a little over half my life, can’t stop now. Until then, get the new KsE album, it’s going to be good. Thanks everyone for letting me try to entertain you, and I wish myself well in my future endeavors. Gone fishin’ Howard”

Moreover, although the vocalist is no longer part of it, the band is currently working on a sixth album and plans to record it in February/March 2012.
