Limp Bizkit Leaves Interscope

Limp Bizkit quitte la maison de disque Interscope, qui jusqu’à maintenant a sorti tous les disques du groupe via ses succursales Flip, Geffen et Suretone Records.

D’autres part, le 21 Novembre, lors d’un podcast intitulé «Poolside With Dean Delray», le chanteur Fred Durst s’est exprimé sur leur dernier album Gold Cobra qui s’est vendu à seulement 63 000 exemplaires aux Etats-Unis depuis sa sortie en Juin dernier; Alors que leur album Chocolate Starfish And The Hot Dog Flavored Water sorti en 2000 avait battu les records de vente d’album rock avec 1,5 million d’exemplaires vendus dès la première semaine.

« Le truc avec « Gold Cobra », c’est que c’est un album pour nous, fait pour nous-même, pour les fans de core, pour certaines personnes que nous connaissons dans l’industrie – ce n’était pas pour aller faire un gros son pop et battre des records à la radio; on voulait juste ne pas faire cet album à ce moment-là. Nous avons travaillé depuis quelques temps maintenant sur où on allait amener Limp Bizkit, et finalement on a été capable de quitter notre maison de disque et devenir indépendant. »

Limp Bizkit leaves the label Interscope, which so far has released all records of the band through Flip, Geffen or Suretone Record.

Furthermore, on November 21st, during a podcast entitled « Poolside With Dean Delray », the frontman Fred Dunst commented on their latest album “Gold Cobra” of which only 63 000 copies has been sold since its release in last June; Whereas their album « Chocolate Starfish And The Hot DogFlavored Water », released in 2000, broke the record of rock album sale with 1.5 million copies sold in its first week.

« One of the things with ‘Gold Cobra’ was that that was a record, for us, to do for ourselves, for the core fans, for some of the people that we know in the industry – its wasn’t our step forward to make a big pop, smash radio record; we just didn’t wanna make that record at that time. We have been working for awhile now to renavigate where we are going to take Limp Bizkit, and finally we have been able to get off our label and become independent. »
