Chevelle Talk About Their Latest Single « Face To The Floor »

Dans une récente interview, Sam Loeffler, le batteur du groupe Chevelle, s’est exprimé sur leur dernier single «Face to the Floor», extrait de leur album intitulé Hats Off to the Bull sortie Mardi dernier via Epic : « C’est une chanson sur l’avidité».

Il explique également que la chanson traite du projet Ponzi de Bernie Madoff et de la frustration de la population concernant l’économie américaine : « C’est quelque chose auquel nous avons à faire de nos jours dans notre culture. En fait, c’est une chanson sur Madoff et il [Pete Loeffler, le chanteur] a écrit les paroles quand il regardait un documentaire sur le projet Ponzi de Madoff et comment ça a marché et combien de personne ont été volés et pendant combien de temps il a volé»

Il ajoute : «C’est presque inimaginable à quel point le travail qu’il a fait est génial et combien il a obtenu. Il n’a pas seulement dépensé l’argent, il a construit un empire. C’est incroyable que nous vivions dans un pays où ce genre de chose peut arriver sans que personne ne le remarque.»

In a recent interview, Sam Loeffler, drummer Chevelle, talks about their latest single « Face to the Floor, » extract from their album Hats Off to the Bull, released on last Tuesday through Epic : “The song is about greed”.

He also explained that the song deals with the Bernie Madoff Ponzi project and frustration of the population regarding the American economy : “It’s something we’re dealing with in our culture right now. Actually, that song is about Madoff, and he worte the lyrics when he was watching a documentary on the Madoff Ponzi scheme and how it worked and how many people he stole from and how long he stole.”

He added : “It was almost unimaginable how great a job he did and how much he got away with. He didn’t just spend the money; he built an empire. It’s amazing we live in a country where something like that can happen without anyone noticing.”
