Jack White Announces Solo Album

Un an après la séparation des Whites Stripes, Jack White, l’ancien leader du groupe, annonce la sortie d’un album solo le 23 Avril via Third Man Records, son label créé en 2001. Sur cet album, qui s’intitule Blunderbuss, le chanteur-musicien a collaboré sur certaines chansons avec les musiciens Seasick Steve et Chris Thile, ainsi que l’auteur-compositeur Ruby Amanfu.

D’autre part, lors d’une interview avec la radio britannique BBC Radio 1, Jack White, également membre des groupes The Dead Weather et The Raconteurs, a expliqué que la réalisation de cet album est un accident : «Il y a quelques mois, nous avions une répétition de prévu et personne n’est venue. Alors j’ai dis : « Je crois que nous allons jouer certaines de mes chansons »… c’est ce qui a démarré tout le processus.»

Il a ajouté à propos des chansons : «Ces chansons ont été écrite à partir de rien. Elles n’ont rien à voir avec quelqu’un ou quelque chose à part ma propre expression, mes propres couleurs sur mes propres toiles.»

One year after the separation of The White Stripes, Jack White, the former leader of the group, announces the release of a solo album on April 23rd through Third Man Records, his label created in 2001. On this album, entitled ‘blunderbuss’, the singer-musician has collaborated on some songs with the musicians Seasick Steve and Chris Thile, and with the songwriter Ruby Amanfu.

Moreover, during an interview with the British radio BBC Radio 1, Jack White, also member of the bands The Dead Weather and The Raconteurs, explained that the achievement of this album is an accident : « A few months ago, we had a session booked and someone didn’t show up. So I said, ‘I guess we’ll do some of my songs’ … It kickstarted the whole process. »

He added, about the songs from this album, that « These songs were written from scratch, had nothing to do with anyone or anything else but my own expression, my own colours on my own canvas. »
