The Academy Is… parting ways

The Academy Is… viennent d’annoncer via leur site web que Andy Mrotek et Michael Guy Chislett quittent le groupe. Voici le communiqué du groupe :

« Le temps est un truc marrant. Il semble choisir la vitesse à laquelle il passe sans se soucier de ses passagers. A travers ce temps virevoltant, les choses changent. Les arts changent, les modes changent, les gouts changent, les coeurs changent, les humeurs changent, les esprits changent, les gens changent, les routes changent. A un moment, chaque route se retrouve divisé en deux directions différentes. The Academy Is est arrivé à ce point. Aussi difficile que ce soit de faire ce choix, Andy Mrotek et Micheal Guy Chislett prennent un chemin différent de celui du groupe. Nous pensons que c’est la bonne décision pour tous ceux qui sont investis dans le groupe d’embrasser ces changements, ces nouveaux espoirs et désirs qui sont nés en chacuns.

Andy est en ce moment concentré sur son art et continue avec son groupe Animal Upstars à plein temps. Son talent sans limites, son coeur et son amitié ont laissé un impact indélébile sur nous tous et nous seront toujours ses plus grands fans, quoi que le future puisse avoir en réserve pour lui. Michael s’est occupé de co-écrire, produire et tourner avec différents artistes au cours de l’année passée et est en ce moment en tournée avec Brooke Fraser à travers le monde. Son talent de musicien a toujours étanché notre soif d’amélioration et nous a poussé à dépasser nos limites. Nous leur souhaitons à tous deux le meilleurs alors que nous nous engageons sur des chemins différents avec toujours autant de respect mutuel, un soutien et une amitié renouvelée.

Nous aimerions remercier tous nos fans pour votre compréhension et soutien, pour chacun de nous, alors que nous entamons l’étape supérieur de nos carrières musicales. Dans le même temps, Mike, Adam et moi même entrons dans une nouvelle ère de The Academy Is. Nous sommes fiers d’annoncer que nous allons rentrer en studio dans un futur très proche pour enregistrer notre 4ème album et le plus ambitieux à ce jour. The Academy Is… Just announced through their website that Andy Mrotek and Michael Guy Chislett are leaving the band. Here is the message the band left :

« Time is a funny thing. It seems to pick and choose the speed at which it passes without regard for its passengers. Through all that whirling time, things change. The arts change, fashions change, tastes change, hearts change, moods change, minds change, people change, road hange. At some point in time, every road finds itself branching out in different directions. The Academy Is has reached that point. As difficult as it is to let go, Andy Mrotek and Michael Guy Chislett are parting ways with The Academy Is… We feel that this is the right choice for all involved to embrace the changes, new hopes and desires that have individually taken hold.

Andy is currently focusing on his art and pursuing his band Animal Upstairs full time. His limitless talent, heart, and friendship has made a lasting impact on all of us and we will always be his biggest fans in whatever the future holds for him. Michael has been busy co-writing, producing and touring with various artists over the past year and is currently touring with Brooke Fraser on her world tour. His ability as a musician always fed our thirst to improve as he pushed us to new limits. We wish them both the best as we head our separate ways with mutual respect and continued support and friendship.

We’d like to thank all of our fans for your understanding and support, for each of us, as we enter the next step in our musical lives. Meanwhile, Mike, Adam and I are looking and moving forward to a new era of The Academy Is. We are proud to announce that we will be heading studio in the very near future to record our 4th and most ambitious album to date. Stay tuned for more news and updates on the record coming soon.
